Graduate Exhibition

This year's Graduate Exhibition will be held from March 5-9 at the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art. We will be exhibiting pieces by our first to third year students, technical study course students, and international students.

Featured in Fiber Art Now

We are featured in the winter 2014 issue of Fiber Art Now. Kawashima Textile School is introduced in an article called "Fiber Destinations" by Trudi Van Dyke, alongside Les Soeurs Anglaises (France) and The Tasara World Centre for Creative Weaving (India).

Happy Holidays!

We want to share this lovely photo from Sweden! Linnea, who studied here last autumn, made a little bow tie with her leftover fabric from the Foundation Kasuri Course. The fabric is made of tussah silk dyed with tinggi (a kind of mangrove).

We will be closed for winter vacation from Dec. 21 to Jan. 13, 2014. Thank you to everyone who has visited our website, followed us on facebook, and whom we have had the pleasure to meet this year.
